The ink drawings of the MachinePictures series are made with the help of a 3D printer and a technical pen. The nib of the pen attached to the printer head travels along the path used to create three-dimensional word reliefs with the exception that it is never lifted from the paper and always stays on the paper plane. The result records the entire set of movements of the printing process along with the inevitable routes that take the head from a finished part of the relief to the next part to be printed, staying clear of the completed elements. Consequently, every drawing is made up of one very long line that crosses itself multiple times, thus creating differences in tone.
